Meet Our Founders
Pastor Michael Brown, Sr.
Pastor Michael A. Brown Sr. was born on July 20, 1958, to the late Richard and Lillie Mae Brown in Florence, South Carolina. He was born into a large family, which included five sisters and six brothers. Three brothers and one sister of which have gone on before him.
He later met the love of his life, the former Marian N. Davis. They were married on February 18, 1981. God blessed them with three beautiful children Michelle Antonette (Braylon) Jamison, Michael Anthony II (Sea’ta) Brown and Myron Antwon (Tiana) Brown. They are also the proud grandparents of Bryce Antony and Miyah Naomi Jamison and Cayden Anthony Brown.
Now that Pastor Brown is retired from the military, God has a greater work for him to do. Pastor and Lady Brown were blessed to be the ones to reopen “Nazareth.” Through this name “Nazareth,” God has given us “New Birth Ministries of Nazareth.” (John 1:45-46)
In these 16 years, Pastor Brown has seen the lives of men, women, boys, and girls transformed before his very eyes. God saved them, filled them with the Holy Ghost and they were baptized in Jesus’ name. The members of this ministry are growing by leaps and bounds. Several of the members have accepted their calling to ministry. As a wise leader, he has instituted a training program to assist and prepare them for the work of ministry. He has introduced several profound Ministry gifts to
New Birth to propel the members to the next level and their destiny in Christ. Pastor Brown takes no credit for the things that only God could do. For God did it all. Pastor Brown teaches and points everyone that crosses his path to be led by Philippians 1:6, “Being confident of this very thing, that he which has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ”.
First Lady Marian Brown
First Lady Marian N. Brown is a native of Spartanburg, SC. She was born into a Godly heritage to the late Paul and Willie Mae Davis. She is the fifth of six children. She is married to Pastor Michael A. Brown Sr., who is the Senior Pastor of New Birth Ministries of Nazareth.
At New Birth Ministries, Lady Brown is a servant leader. As an Evangelist, she is used to preach and teach God’s Word. As the Ministry Coordinator, she coordinates, plans, and executes church events. She founded “A Night of Elegance” Christmas Gala, now an annual event which brings the church and community together for a great time of fellowship and exposure to the love of Jesus Christ. As President of the Women’s Department, she leads with a mission to encourage and empower women to live a life that pleases God. As Sunday School Superintendent, she believes that Sunday School it is the most important meal of the day. Lady Brown is the Overseer of “Praise and Worship” and is also an Executive Board Member of the Ministry.
While her husband Pastor Brown served in the United States Army, God gave Lady Brown a passion and gift for singing and serving abroad in “Praise and Worship”. Lady Brown has ministered in this capacity across the globe, serving in places such as Germany, California, Texas, Colorado, and South Carolina.
Lady Brown is very passionate about living a life that pleases God. She encourages all to seek God first for guidance and let Him order their steps. Her desire and mission are for the Holy Spirit to give her the guidance to lead God’s people. She leads with grace and excellence, thus her motto “whatever you do in the ministry, do it with a Spirit of Excellence.” She teaches and strongly believes “When we work together and have the mind of Christ, there’s nothing we cannot do!”
First Lady Brown’s favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6 (AMPC), “Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and make straight and plain your path.”
